Thanks to everyone who filled out the survey and came to the input session. It was great to hear everyone's ideas and thoughts on this community issue. I was ecstatic to see such support for what is becoming a bit of a Waltham tradition and one of the great attractions of our city. Almost 90% of the survey respondents supported continuing to shut down Moody Street!
The issue is not settled yet! The traffic commission will make a final decision on the 20th of this month.

My Proposal
I have put forth a proposal for the Summer Moody Market. My hope with it is to continue this developing tradition for the next 3 years from June through September. This extended trial period would give business' and residents needed clarity, allow our first responders to develop best practices for that time of year, and allow the city to collect meaningful data to drive future decisions around this great community asset.
